Since December 29, 1992, Beijing Municipal Sports Commission, Xiannongtan Sports and Technical School and CITIC Guoan Industrial Development Corporation joined hands to formally sign an agreement in Beijing Guoan Hotel, marking the birth of Beijing Guoan Football Salon. Since then, Beijing really has its own professional soccer team.

On January 5, 1993, the inaugural conference of the Beijing Guoan Football Salon was held at the Diaoyutai State Guesthouse.

On April 17, 1994, the inaugural A-League opened with Beijing Guoan defeating Guangdong Hongyuan 2-0 on the road, with Yang Chen scoring the first goal in Guoan's professional league history in the 61st minute of the game.

In 1994, the Chinese professional soccer league officially started, and Beijing Guoan Salon, as one of the founding salons of the league, participated in that year's League A. In the end, Beijing Guoan won 7, drew 8, and lost 7. Eventually, in the 1994 A League, Beijing Guoan won 7, drew 8, lost 7, scored 42 goals and lost 34, scored 22 points in 22 league games, and ended their debut season in 8th place.

On May 17, Beijing Guoan defeated Arsenal 2-1 in the London Export Eurasia Cup at the Stadium.

On April 21, 1996, Beijing Guoan played their first professional league match at Workers' Stadium, ending in a 2-2 draw with Yanbian Hyundai.

On July 20, 1997, Beijing Guoan beat Shanghai Shenhua 9-1 at home, with Cao Jiandong scoring a goal, Gambos scoring twice, and Andres and Casciano scoring hat-tricks. This competition still holds a number of records such as the highest number of goals scored in the top league of Chinese soccer, the largest difference in score, and the most goals scored in team history. This crazy night, because of this crazy score will always be in the memories of Guoan fans.

On December 28, 1997, Beijing Guoan hosted Shanghai Shenhua in the final of the FA Cup. After Deng Lejun's mistake created an unfavorable situation of 0-1 down in the opening match, Guoan was broken by Cassiano and Nanfang, completing the reversal and finally winning the championship with 2-1. While defending their title, Beijing Guoan also won the second AFC Cup in the team's history.

On March 12, 1998, Beijing Guoan won the first Super Cup in the team's history with a 2-1 result in the Super Cup, thanks to Andres's overtime strike, which made Dalian Wanda "suddenly die".

On July 4, 1999, Guoan Salon announced the transfer of Yang Chen to Eintracht Frankfurt in the German Bundesliga, with a transfer fee of 1,310,000 marks, making Yang Chen the first Chinese player to formally transfer to one of Europe's top five leagues. Yang Chen performed well in the Bundesliga, scoring 16 goals for Eintracht Frankfurt in three seasons.

On December 5, 1999, Beijing Guoan faced Liaoning Fushun, the top team in the league, in the final match of the league. As long as the "Liao Xiaohu" took all three points, they would be able to write the Kaiserslautern myth of Chinese soccer. Facing the opponent, Guoan team played a tenacious momentum, with Gao Leilei's international wave 1-1 blocked the opponent. In the other match played together, Shandong Luneng won a big home match and eventually rebounded to win the title.

On May 31, 2002, the final stage of the 2002 Korea-Japan World Cup began, and Beijing Guoan team members Xu Yunlong, Yang Pu and Shao Jiayi were named to the 23-player roster of the Chinese national team, wearing No. 21, No. 3 and No. 6 respectively.

On October 1, 2003, Beijing Hyundai won the FA Cup title with a 3-0 victory over Lian Shide in the FA Cup final at Wulihe Stadium in Shenyang!

On January 18, 2004, Beijing Hyundai defeated their old rivals Shanghai Shenhua 4-3 in the 2003 season Super Cup in Wuhu with goals by Konese (2 goals), Xu Yunlong and Yang Hao, winning the Super Cup for the 2nd time in the team's history.

On September 25, 2005, Yelich opened his home record against Chongqing Lifan, setting the season's goal tally at 21, breaking the single-season scoring record for China's top soccer league at the time, and becoming the first league Golden Boot in the team's history.On December 11, the Chinese Football Association (CFA) confirmed that Beijing Guoan's player Yelich won the Player of the Season award and became the 2005 Chinese Footballer of the Year. On March 19, 2006, Beijing Guoan welcomed their first home game in Fengtai Sports Center. Because of the remodeling work needed for the Olympic Games at Gongtai, Guoan chose Fengtai as their new home ground. In the first match, Beijing Guoan lost 1-2 to Shanghai United City.

On August 8, 2007, Beijing Guoan finished a stunning 6-1 victory on the road in Shandong Province, conquering the Shandong Provincial Sports Center. This success created the biggest away success in the team's history, and also allowed Guoan to beat Shandong on the road for the first time in their history.

October 4, 2007, Beijing Guoan team in Fengtian home ushered in the championship rival Changchun Yatai, in this "battle of Heaven's Mountain", Guoan repeatedly lost good opportunities, but in the 77th minute by the other side of the foreign aid Elvis scored a goal, and ultimately lost 0-1, the top of the table was taken away by the opponent. On March 12, 2008, Beijing Guoan played in the first AFC Champions League match in the team's history, defeating Nam Dinh of Vietnam 3-1 on the road. Yan Xiangguan scored twice, while Du Wenhui also scored a goal.

On October 31, 2009, Beijing Guoan welcomed Hangzhou Greentown in the final round of the league. Four days before the match, there were already fans lining up all night outside the Gongtian Stadium, hoping to witness this match that was destined to go down in history. The match took place in the afternoon, and the 60,000 seats at the stadium were filled to capacity.

Just four minutes into the match, Emil Martinez opened the scoring and put the fans' hearts in their throats. Shortly after the second half started, it was Big Martin again, who made the score 2-0 with a shot from outside the box. 77th minute, substitute Du Wenhui made a penalty kick and Zhou Ting hit it to extend the score again. 2 minutes later, Big Martin broke the streak and scored a hat-trick of goals to make the score 4-0! After an undisputed victory, Beijing Guoan finally won the 2009 season of the Chinese Super League! 16 years of waiting for the fans, so the slogan "Guoan is the champion" resounded through the streets of the capital.

On March 9, 2010, in a snowy Japan away game, Beijing Guoan defeated Kawasaki Striker 3-1 in the AFC Champions League group stage with Wang Changqing's second goal and Joel's goal. The snowy night win over Kawasaki became a classic memory of the AFC Champions League.

October 22, 2011, Beijing Guoan away against Tianjin Teda, Joel Griffiths broke the goal in the 75th minute, Yang Zhi in the last second of the game to pounce on the opponent striker Bilasco penalty kick, with a special shutout, for the team to retain the 1-0 success. With the three points from this match, Guoan confirmed the runner-up of the league in the 2011 season two rounds ahead of schedule.

July 21, 2012, Beijing suffered the strongest rainstorm disaster in 61 years, Guoan team home games with Hangzhou Greentown continued as originally planned in the evening kick-off. Despite the storm, more than 20,000 fans came to the stadium to cheer for Guoan. Because of the unforeseen circumstances brought about by the rain, Guoan suffered a 0-2 defeat.

On October 26, 2014, Guoan challenged Guangzhou Evergrande away from home, a game that would have won the title 1 round earlier had Evergrande not lost. With Sun Xiang being sent off with a red card, Guoan gradually dominated the game, but were unable to score. In the 88th minute, Shao Jiayi replaced Ha Dacheng, who had just entered the game and scored with his first touch, taking a direct free kick. With Shao Jiayi's first goal, Guoan conquered Tianhe Stadium for the first time.

On October 29, 2015, Shao Jiayi held a conference to announce that he would bid farewell to his 17-year career as a professional player at the end of the season. Salon leaders, the team's coaching staff and all players attended Shao's conference. The 35-year-old veteran wept, players, fans and even the media also red eyes. October 31, after the final round of the Chinese Super League, Shao Jiayi officially retired in the Workers Stadium.

In January 2017, Zhonghe Group took a controlling stake in Beijing Guoan Football Salon, which was renamed Beijing Zhonghe Guoan Football Salon.

After the injury time on July 26, 2018, the referee finally blew the final whistle, and Beijing Zhonghe Guoan drew 2-2 away to Shandong Luneng Taishan, lifting the 2018 F.A.C.P.A. Cup title with the advantage of more goals scored on the road! With goals from Bieira and Zhang Xizhe, the team returned from the Jinan Olympic Sports Center Stadium in one piece, and even more so, won the 4th AFC Cup title in the team's history, despite not being favored. This is also the first time after 15 years that Guoan has won the Cup.

On December 21, 2019, in the 30th round of the Chinese Super League, Beijing Zhonghe Guoan defeated Shandong Luneng Taishan 3-2 at home and finished as the runner-up in the Chinese Super League with 70 points. This point not only refreshes the highest point record in the history of Guoan team, but also breaks the record of the highest point runner-up in the Chinese Super League. After the 29th round of the competition away win over R&F, Guoan got 67 points, equaling the team's highest points record reached in the 2014 season. Finally, Guoan defeated Luneng in the final round, with 70 points to refresh the team's history of points record.
