On June 1, the Guangzhou Municipal Government held a press conference on the prevention and control of the epidemic, disclosing that on May 31, 0-24 hours, Guangzhou City, 10 new confirmed cases, including 1 case of asymptomatic infected people turned into confirmed cases, 2 new asymptomatic infected people. As of 24:00 on May 31, the cumulative number of confirmed cases in the city of Guangzhou has reached 34, with 8 cases of asymptomatic infected people, making Guangzhou one of the most serious areas of the epidemic in China.
However, the current cases in Guangzhou are mainly concentrated in the Liwan District in the western part of the city, which is far away from the hotels and race venues in the Guangzhou Region. Of the four major competition venues in Guangzhou, Tianhe Stadium is located in Tianhe District and Yuexiu Mountain Stadium is located in Yuexiu District, both of which are in the city center; University City Stadium is located in Panyu in the south and Huadu Stadium is located in Huadu in the north; and the competition hotel, Oriental Hotel, is also located in Yuexiu District. The areas where these venues and hotels are located are currently low-risk areas and will not affect the travel and movement of people for the event.
