First of all, we support the conference system adopted by the AFC and FIFA because, after all, none of our subsequent matches will be played at home. Therefore, we are in favor of the tournament regardless of where it is held. In addition, the tournament system effectively reduces the many inconveniences caused by moving between countries to participate in the tournament."
The statement also mentioned that the Syrian Football Association is strongly opposed to the adjustment of the routes for the remaining Group A events, especially if the adjustment of the routes is likely to give an advantage to our forces. At the same time, they pointed out that the AFC has issued several announcements about restrictions on our entry into the country, which is the reason why the AFC has set aside alternative hosting clauses.
In addition, the President of the Syrian Football Federation, Al Ghayeb, said that he is ready to have an in-depth communication with the President of the AFC, Ben Ibrahim, to discuss the matter.
