As the 40-team tournament draws near, the South Korean national team unveiled its 28-player assembly lineup for this cycle on the 24th. Among them, Kim Min-jae, Kim Shin-wook and Son Jun-ho, three players who play in the Chinese Super League, are listed, which also indicates that they may have to miss the 6th and 7th rounds of the Chinese Super League.

In this new list, Son became the leader, while Beijing Guoan's "Korean duo" Kim Min-Ja and Kim Shin-Wook, as well as Shandong Taishan's Sun Jun-Ho were recruited by Portuguese head coach Paulo Bento. South Korea are in Group H of the 40-team tournament, and despite having played one less round, they are currently trailing in the group, and are considered to be on track to make a "comeback" on points in their remaining three matches. South Korea's next opponents include Turkmenistan on June 5, Sri Lanka on June 9, and Lebanon on June 13th.

The sixth and seventh rounds of the Chinese Super League are scheduled for June 21 and 26, respectively, and even if the three players could return to South Korea immediately after the matches due to the need to undergo medical quarantine, they would miss at least two rounds of their respective clubs' fixtures in those two rounds.
