Despite Beijing Guoan's absolute dominance in possession, shooting and passing, with 19 shots on goal, 6 on target and 614 passes, a success rate of 90%, Shanghai Seaport won by two goals with their better ability to take chances.
In the post-match scoring, Ricardo Lopez of Shanghai Hong Kong earned the highest score of the match with 8.1, while Beijing Guoan's goalkeeper Housen earned the lowest score of the match.
It's worth noting that of the top four teams in the league last season, all but Shanghai SIPG were in trouble except for Shanghai SIPG's stable performance.
