In today's Super League finale, Beijing Guoan lost to Shanghai SIPG by a score of 1:3, following the first round loss to Shenhua, the team suffered two consecutive losses this season. This is reminiscent of the embarrassing situation in 2016 when the team scored only one point in the first two rounds.
Shanghai Seaport's lineup is as follows: goalkeeper Yan Junling; defenders Li Ang, Wei Zhen, He Jiao and Lu Wenjun; midfielders Wang Shenchao, Halik, Muyi, Oscar and Lopez; and striker Arnautovic.
The list of substitutes also includes Chen Wei, Yu Rui, Yu Hai, Li Shenyuan, Cai Huikang, Zhang Huachen, Yang Shiyuan, Chen Chunxin and Jia Bo Yan.
Beijing Guoan's lineup is: goalkeeper Housen; defenders Li Lei, Yu Dabao, Yu Yang, and Kim Min Ja; midfielders Wang Gang, Ji Zhongguo, Bieira, Liu Huan, and Gao Tianyi; and strikers Zhang Yuning and Ba Kambu.
Also on the bench were Zou Dehai, Jin Pengxiang, Yang Fan, Bo Yang, Jin Taiyan, Li Ke, Zhang Xunzhe and Li Boshi.
Despite Beijing Guoan's absolute dominance in possession, shooting and passing, with 19 shots on goal, 6 on target and 614 passes, a success rate of 90%, Shanghai Seaport won by two goals with their better ability to take chances.
In the post-match scoring, Ricardo Lopez of Shanghai Hong Kong earned the highest score of the match with 8.1, while Beijing Guoan's goalkeeper Housen earned the lowest score of the match.
It's worth noting that of the top four teams in the league last season, all but Shanghai SIPG were in trouble except for Shanghai SIPG's stable performance. Jiangsu Suning won the title, Guangzhou Evergrande (now Guangzhou) scored only one point with one draw and one loss, while Beijing Guoan lost both of its matches with no points.
Therefore, Guangzhou, who lost yesterday, need not be too frustrated as Beijing Guoan's poor performance also provided them with a hint of consolation. The league has only just begun, so let's hope that all the strongest teams in the Chinese Super League can quickly adjust their form, present exciting matches to their fans, and develop more outstanding players.
