The midfield of a soccer battlefield is like the heartland, controlling the rhythm and direction of the game. The team that can dominate the midfield is often on the way to victory. In the history of soccer, Zidane, Gullit, Zico and other top midfield masters have led the way, and they have won countless honors for their teams. Looking back at the A-League era, a number of outstanding midfielders have emerged, and the following is a brief review of five of them (in no particular order, one from each team).

One of the five best midfielders in the A-A era: Ma Mingyu (Sichuan)

Sichuan soccer has produced outstanding players such as Wei Dayong, the "Cheetah", and Ma Mingyu is also one of the shining stars. As a famous midfield leader in the A-A era, Ma was the captain of the national football team under Milu, and he specialized in long-distance shooting. He was good at long-distance shooting and studied in Serie A. In 2000, Perugia introduced Ma Mingyu to Serie A, but unfortunately, he didn't get a minute's chance to play in Serie A. In the A era, Ma Mingyu was the first player to play in the Serie A. He was also the first player to play in the Serie A. However, Ma Mingyu was undoubtedly the most representative midfielder of Quanxing in the A-A era.

A A era midfield five of the second: Li Xiaopeng (Shandong)

Luneng used to be the oldest team in A-A, but now the team name has been restored to "Taishan". Li Xiaopeng, as the core midfielder of Luneng in the A-A era, used to coach Wuhan Zall. Li Xiaopeng has excellent footwork skills, is good at organizing attacks, and has excellent long passing ability. He had a good performance as the main midfielder of the national soccer team. It is worth mentioning that he has played for Luneng in both A-A and Chinese Super League. At the beginning of the Chinese Super League, Luneng was defeated by Wuhan Tianlong Huanghelou 2:3 on the road, and Li Xiaopeng scored a wonderful long-distance shot.

Three of the Five Best Midfielders of the A-A Era: Li Ming (Dalian)

Dalian Wanda (later renamed Shide) had established its own dynasty in the A-A era. Li Ming, as the core midfielder of the team, won 8 top league championships with Dalian. 1992, Li Ming was selected for the national football team for the first time, and had an outstanding performance in the national team. Unfortunately, Milo did not bring Li Ming to the 2002 World Cup, and in the 2004 Asian Cup final, Li Ming scored the only goal of the national soccer team in a 1:3 defeat against Japan.

The Fourth of the Five Midfielders of the A-A Era: Cao Jiandong (Beijing)

In the past, Guoan team had the classic combination of "four catchers", and Cao Jiandong was one of them. As one of the few technical players in the north, Cao represented the national soccer team in the 1994 Asian Games and 1996 Asian Cup. At Guoan, Cao went all out to lead the team and helped them to a second-place finish. His left-footed shot was accurate and his long passing ability was outstanding. However, he was not selected for the national team after 1997. Nowadays, we still miss the "Northern Cao" of Guoan.

A-A Era Midfield Five: Peng Weiguo (Guangzhou)

Guangdong soccer is known for its technical flow, and excellent midfielders like Peng Weiguo emerged during the A.A. In 1992, Peng Weiguo scored two goals against Qatar in the Asian Cup, and in 1994, Guangzhou Sunshine won the second place in the A.A., and the team's top scorer Hu Zhijun was awarded the Golden Boot, while Peng Weiguo was Hu's right-hand man. Peng Weiguo's name comes to mind when we think of the Sun Devils midfielders.
