Since the announcement of the dissolution of the Jiangsu team on February 28th, a full month has passed in the blink of an eye. In these thirty long days, the defending champions, who have been hovering on the edge of life and death, finally failed to make the list for the new season. This means that for the first time, this team with a history of 63 years has no connection with the stage of the Chinese league.
It has certainly been a dark time for Jiangsu's fans, players, coaches and staff. Current players have said their goodbyes, team staff members have been looking around for jobs, and Lu Bofei, the soul of the Jiangsu team and the head coach who led the reserve team to win the 2019 Chinese Super League Reserve League title, has been silent.
In fact, Lu Bofei is no stranger to the plight of team disbandment. Back in the 2008 season, he experienced a tough time with Wuhan Guanggu when the team withdrew and disbanded mid-season. It was that turn of events that gave him a deep connection with Jiangsu soccer.
After joining Jiangsu Suntian, Lu Bofei made a splash in the AFC Champions League, scoring the first AFC Champions League goal in the history of Jiangsu team, conquering the Jiangsu fans, and closely linked to a period of legend and splendor between him and Jiangsu team.
Settling down in Nanjing and marrying a daughter-in-law of Nantong Haian nationality, Lu Bofei became a standard Jiangsu son-in-law. He devoted his best youth to Jiangsu soccer for more than ten years, and began to shoulder the heavy responsibility for the inheritance of Jiangsu soccer.
However, the team suddenly disbanded, which disrupted Lu Bo Fei whole life planning. Talking about this major change in the Jiangsu team, Lu Bofei said: "I can only say that especially especially sorry ...... from the eighty-one team, I played in the top league a total of five or six troops, until I came to the Jiangsu team, I really got a sense of achievement and a sense of belonging. Such a great team, such a great atmosphere of the fans, such a good force said no, for all the people who pay for it, is not a good result, but also particularly unfair."
However, things have come to this point, the results can not be changed. This month, as a former meritorious captain of Jiangsu, how did Lu Bofei get through this difficult time?
"Actually, at first I didn't think the unit would just say it was gone. But as time went on, one moment the news was that the team might still exist, and the next moment there was news that the team was gone. It wasn't until after the announcement of the access list on March 29 that I realized, ah, our team is really gone. I can't tell you the feeling of loss.
And I'm not a player now, as a coach, I still have to go to appease the group of players I brought, through all kinds of ways to contact the troops, for this group of children to find a way, so that their career as far as possible there is still a ball to play, but also for the continuation of some of the fire for Jiangsu soccer. This may be the last work I can do for Jiangsu soccer, or according to this team."
Theoretically, since Suning still has the problem of unpaid wages, after the team was disbanded, Lu Bofei, as the head of the reserve team, could no longer have to bear the above responsibilities. But as one of the most important components of Jiangsu soccer, Lu Bofei is still quietly doing his loyalty and responsibility.
Talking about the contract problem with Suning and the future development, Lu Bofei said: "The contract and unpaid wages, is still communicating with Suning there, I also hope that there is a more appropriate and reasonable way to deal with it. From my own and personal development point of view, I am also waiting for some of the final results of the Jiangsu team, in addition, I have to go to the work of PRO-level coaching training courses, about five or six months, and strive to complete the course as soon as possible, and now has been in the preparation of the subject of the thesis of the matter. Once one day Jiangsu soccer can be reborn in nirvana, as a son-in-law of Jiangsu, I personally still hope to continue to make my own contribution to Jiangsu soccer. I still look forward to the day when I can return to the Nanjing Olympic Sports Center, shoulder-to-shoulder with all Jiangsu fans, and fight together for the new Jiangsu team!"
