Beijing time on March 29, the Chinese Football Association unveiled the professional league three access to the team list, Nanjing city soccer team is listed, marking the birth of the team in 2014, once known as the "Nanjing Fengfan" they, in just three years from the amateur to the professional league completed a magnificent metamorphosis.
In 2019, Nanjing Fengfan won the "Central Championship League" and successfully entered the Central B League. The soccer salon, which started in 2014, initially competed in the Nanjing City League, Jiangsu City Amateur Football League and Nanjing Football Association Super League as an amateur.
In 2019, Nanjing Fengfan made their way through the Chinese Football Association Member Association Champions League (CCAA Champions League), eventually finishing first in the North Zone and gaining preferential access to the CCAA B League on the strength of a perfect 21-point record.
In the championship final of that year, Nanjing Fengfan beat Shenzhen Pokgang team by two rounds of 5:3, and advanced to the second division as the champion of the Central Championship League, officially stepping into the threshold of the professional league.
In 2020, Nanjing Fengfan launched the ambition of striking the first league in China B. Although they finally missed the chance to reach the first league with a total score of 0:2 against Zibo Cuju in the semi-final, they certainly impressed people with their performance in the league. In 2021, Nanjing Fengfan Football Salon officially changed its name to "Nanjing City" to meet the challenge with a new look. In the official announcement, the club expressed its gratitude to the municipal government, the Municipal Sports Bureau, the Municipal Football Association and other departments, as well as respect for the fans and friends.
As the Cangzhou Lions of the Central League were passed into the Chinese Super League, Taizhou Yuanda, Inner Mongolia Zhongyou and Beijing Renhe withdrew, Nanjing City therefore passed into the Central League to start a new journey.
