On Nov. 4, Tonight News reported that Jinmen Tigers head coach Yu Genwei did an in-depth review of the team's overall performance behind the season's sixth-place finish in the Chinese Super League.

Faced with the reality of the team's situation, Yu Genwei frankly said: "Our capital investment and return ratio is quite equal. In some matches, we rely on our players' fighting spirit to win, but some matches need to be supported by hard power. The top five teams have strong squads, most of which have the ability to play on two fronts, which is something we can't match. Every team lives in different circumstances and despite our modest investment, we have an obligation to honor the city. We will not take any game lightly and strive to produce a better record in the conditions we have."

Yu further noted that the return on investment for the Zim Tigers over a four-year period remains impressive. Despite suffering a shock relegation in 2021, the team finished eighth in the Chinese Super League in each of the following two seasons, and made a quantum leap in results this season.

However, at the same time, the Jinmen Tigers have also shown a lack of adaptability to the intensive schedule as well as a lack of stability in performance. In this regard, Yu Genwei said: "Our plight in recent years, we all know it well, that is, the lack of depth in the lineup, this problem is interwoven by a variety of factors."
