On November 28th, 2024, Shanghai Seaport Football Team held a grand season review celebration at their own home stadium in Pudong. The vice mayor of Shanghai came to the ceremony, and Xu Bin, the first hand of the Municipal Sports Bureau, was also there, and they not only sent the Seaport team warm congratulations from the Municipal Party Committee, the Municipal Government and the Sports Bureau, but also expressed their deepest concern for this team.
Looking back at the entire 2024 season, Shanghai Harbour Team wrote the legend with a bang, with 25 wins, 3 draws and 2 losses, they accumulated a whopping 78 points. After winning the Super League title in 2023, they were honored again this year, successfully lifting the third Vulcan Cup in the team's history. They also broke a number of records, including 96 goals scored in a single season in the CSL, 78 points for winning the title, 66 goals against, and the longest winning streak in a season with 16 consecutive victories. After winning the Super League title, the Harbour Team also won the AFC Cup on November 23rd, truly achieving the "Grand Slam" of domestic soccer events.
Chinese soccer legend and famous coach Xu Genbao was also invited to attend the celebration and witnessed a touching scene where his beloved disciple, Stanley Wong, put on the AFC Cup winner's medal for him. The deep love between master and disciple was touching. Director Xu witnessed this group of young players start from Chongming Island and step by step towards their dream come true as they honored their promise to each other. He fondly recalled the experience of leading Shenhua to win the championship in 1995, but regretted to miss the FA Cup: "At that time, facing the Shandong team, although we won, but did not get the FA Cup. Now, the harbor team to achieve a double title, it is not easy, congratulations to them." He also humorously mentioned the promise he made with Coach Muscat at the beginning of the year: "I remember when Muscat gave me a bottle of champagne and said we would celebrate the championship together.
