Chen Yong took to social media platforms to praise Taishan and Shenhua for their heroic performances in the AFC Champions League.

In the first round of the new AFC East Asian Champions League, the Chinese Super League (CSL) duo have put on their uniforms and delivered impressive results. Shandong Taishan turned back the Central Coast Mariners 3-1, while Shanghai Shenhua thrashed Pohang Steelers 4-1.

Commenting on the outstanding play of the two teams, Chen Yong said: "Taishan is like a hungry tiger in the AFC Champions League, even in the toughest moments, but also by virtue of the stage of the AFC Champions League to achieve self-redemption, and has accumulated valuable experience. In contrast, I am more impressed by the resilience of Shenhua. Last year they did not qualify for the AFC Champions League, but this year is their first time on the stage. As Coach Slutsky said, they may not be used to it at first, but they soon adjusted to it. Indeed, it is the will and motivation that are the most valuable assets in this athletic duel."
