Li Jin Yu is delighted with his new position! On the second sunny day of July, Liaoning Ironmen FC of the Central League announced that the former Liaoning soccer legend will take charge of the team and start a brand new coaching career.

Li Jinyu, a young man, was once a young talent of Liaozhu soccer team. He has been coaching since 2012, first as an assistant coach for the national team. Dating back to 1985, Li Jin Yu joined the Liaoning Sports School's junior soccer training class and grew up under the careful guidance of Coach Zhang. As a youngster, he represented Shenyang Pride twice in the national "Beibei Cup" soccer tournament and was awarded the best scorer. 1997, he represented the Jianlibao youth team in the World Youth Soccer Championships, and in 1998, he formally represented the Liaoning team in the National Soccer League A.B. In 2000, he won the Super Championship, and by the end of the year, he was honored as China's Mr. Soccer. In 2000, he won the Super Championship, and at the end of the same year, he was honored as China's Footballer of the Year.

In the 2023 season, Li Jinyu took charge of Yunnan Yukun and led the team to a third-place finish in the Central B League, successfully upgrading them to the Central A League. However, in May of this year, due to personal reasons, Li said goodbye to his position as head coach of Yunnan Yukun. At that time, Yukon in ten rounds of matches with 7 wins, 2 draws and 1 loss of good results leading the Central League table, Li's departure was like a bolt from the blue. Liaoning Ironman saw the opportunity and decided to hire Li, a move that had nothing to do with the 0-5 defeat on the road in the 15th round of the Central League at the end of June. Currently, Liaoning Ironman's ranking has dropped to the bottom three of the Central League table, and Li's arrival may be able to save the former powerhouse.
