In the hot month of June, the 36-team World Qualifying Tournament ushered in the ultimate showdown, with China's men's soccer team losing 0-1 to South Korea on the road, but with the win, they managed to overtake Thailand and advance to the 18-team tournament. After the match, debutant Liu Yang shared his journey on social media.

Liu Yang lamented on Weibo, "Regardless of the outcome, we have harvested growth and fulfillment. Thank you for the journey, fans and friends, 18 strong match, we do not see each other!"

Liu Yang played 12 games in the Chinese Super League this season as a member of Shandong Taishan, picking up a goal and a key assist with his outstanding performance.
