On May 22nd, the stormy soccer field ushered in fresh blood. China's men's national soccer team announced its new lineup, in which Xu Haoyang, the midfield soul of Shanghai Shenhua, made his debut on the stage of the national team after going through the trials and tribulations.

Xu Haoyang, 25, helped his team win the 2021 Chinese League One and the 2022 Chinese Super League with outstanding performances during his short loan spell at Wuhan Sanzhen. Upon his return to Shanghai Shenhua, he has been working with his comrades to win the 2023 CFA Cup and the 2024 China Super Cup.

This season, Xu Haoyang has played 13 Super League matches for Shenhua, scoring a few goals but assisting one, a remarkable performance. The selection of the national team training list is undoubtedly a career milestone for him.

It is worth mentioning that Xu Haoyang is not the only player who is making his debut in the national team. Newcomers such as Huang Zhengyu, Yang Zexiang, Bao Yaxiong, Baihe Lamu and Han Pengfei will also add to the future of our country's soccer under the coaching staff's tutelage.
