On the AFC's official website, there was exciting news: President Salman visited Thailand to talk with Ms. Wulunpan and praised the rapid development of Thai soccer in recent years.
President Salman praised, "The Football Association of Thailand, a symbol of unity whose values are embedded in the marrow of Asian soccer."
On behalf of the Asian soccer family, I would like to express our deepest gratitude to the management of Thai soccer and the Thai soccer community for their strong conviction and excellent organizational skills on this green battlefield, as the management of Thai soccer has responded positively to the call for successive successful hosting of AFC and international tournaments.
President Salman also highlighted Thailand's soccer achievements: earlier this year, the Thai men's soccer team made it to the last 16 of the Asian Cup, while the Thai futsal team locked up an early berth in the final of the 2024 Futsal Asia Cup in Thailand and qualified for the FIFA Futsal World Cup to be held in Uzbekistan in September of that year.
President Salman spoke highly of Ms. Nguyen Pan's election as CEO of the Thai league and the positive steps she has taken: "President Nguyen Pan's leadership has rejuvenated Thai soccer, and the AFC will always be there to lend a helping hand in raising the standard of soccer in Asia."
