Jangovic put a penalty kick into the net in the 68th minute (originally scheduled for the 64th minute), which not only sealed the score, but also opened the chapter of his first goal in Dalian. That night, Anqi's blood stained the pitch, and the referee Tanhai's call sparked an uproar.
On November 24 of the same year, in the 29th (penultimate) round of the AA League, Dalian Shide had to beat Beijing Guoan in their hometown to defend their dream of a third consecutive title. In the end, they won 2-1, with Jangovic scoring in the 36th minute to set the cornerstone of the victory. The post-match images of him and his teammates celebrating witnessed the joy of the moment.
On July 30, 2003, Dalian Shide beat Shaanxi Guoli 4-1 at home, and Jangovic broke the goal three times at 16, 46 and 68, completing his first hat-trick after joining Dalian, and also the first hat-trick in the first league of that year.
