Sevilla beat Rayo Vallecano 2-1 away from home on February 6, but Ocampos' experience of the game was tainted by an untimely outburst of violence. After the match, he took to social media to speak out publicly, strongly condemning the poor behavior of the home fans.

"Everyone can see those images." Ocampos said in a heavy tone, "I expect the Liga MX to take this type of behavior as seriously as they do the issue of racism. I know not everyone does it, but there will always be some crazy people. I hope this kind of thing doesn't happen again elsewhere."

Behind Ocampos' words is a deep concern for the women's soccer team. "If this had happened to the women's soccer team, we would have seen the consequences a long time ago." He continued with a hint of choking, "I delayed speaking out because I have two daughters. I don't want this tragedy to befall them tomorrow. I don't know the man who hit me, but I really want to teach him a lesson. I have two daughters and I don't want them to be told at school that their father used to hit them."

Nonetheless, Ocampos also expressed his apologies to the rest of the fans of Rayo Vallecano, emphasizing, "I think we should fight back against this bad behavior, but never let an ignorant individual hurt innocent fans."
