Today, the Football Association (F.A.A.) came up with a big news: the Chinese B team, Yunnan Yukun, succeeded in joining the ranks of the professional league in the 2024 season.
Looking back to the night of January 29th, the CFA unveiled the access list for the new professional league season. Last year, Yunnan Yukun, one of the best teams in China B, regrettably failed to qualify for admission and even faced the crisis of dissolution.
Despite Yunnan Yukun's ample financial resources and third-place finish in the previous season's Chinese League B, the dream of reaching the first division failed to materialize. With the exit of Dalian Ren and Shenzhen, a place in the Central League is vacant and Yunnan Yukun seeks a chance to make up for it through Wuxi Wu Hook and Jiangxi Lushan. But all of this is predicated on the fact that one of the Chinese Super League or Chinese League One clubs must fail to pass the access.
Rumor has it that Yunnan Yukun attempted to achieve its goal by funding the struggling Dandong Tengyue to announce its dissolution so that Yunnan Yukun could take its place. However, this information was reported to the relevant authorities by Dandong Tengyue players.
Although Yunnan Yukun failed to gain entry and Dandong Tengyue failed to make the list, their dissolution was widely predicted in light of their wage arrears. However, the possibility of both clubs being penalized at the same time remains a compelling possibility.
