In this prosperous Oriental metropolis, Shanghai Harbor Club celebrated its extraordinary 18th birthday.
Dating back to December 25, 2005, Shanghai Dongya FC was born, marking a new chapter in Shanghai soccer. The following year, it broke into the professional league with the vigor of a newborn calf. Three years later, East Asia FC announced its rise to prominence with the title of champion of the China B League. Immediately after, in 2012, it managed to leap to the ranks of the Chinese Super League at a steady pace.
Time flies like a white horse, at the end of 2014, Shanghai SIPG took over the baton of the club with a strong force, and the renamed Shanghai SIPG locked the trophy of the Chinese Super League one round ahead of schedule in the 2018 season, which is not only the best feedback for the past efforts, but also the unlimited vision for the future.
At the beginning of the Chinese New Year in 2021, Shanghai SIPG once again changed its name to Shanghai Seaport, signifying that it will continue to ride the wind and waves and move forward. In the 2023 season, Harbour Club lived up to its name and lifted the second Chinese Super League trophy in the team's history, a moment that had the whole of Shanghai abuzz with excitement.
