In the midst of the digital wave, veteran journalist Chen Hua dropped a bombshell on social media today, urging China's soccer governing body, the Football Association (FA), to change its policy on foreign aid in the Chinese Super League (CSL) with a view to seamlessly integrating it with the AFC Champions League (AFC), Asia's premier soccer tournament.

Chen Hua made an impassioned statement on social media platforms, "The restriction of foreign aid quota will no longer exist in the coming year's AFC Champions League, which is almost a tailor-made rule for the Middle East league. At this moment, if the Chinese Super League giants have the intention, they may wish to consider expanding their foreign aid lineups, and at the same time, they need to pay close attention to the latest incentives from the Football Association, such as adjusting the foreign aid policy, with a view to better integrating into the AFC Champions League system."

After taking office, Song Kai, the new FA president, vowed to create a professional league that the public has been waiting for and to be on par with the Asian Football Confederation, while at the same time starting to study the feasibility of relaxing the foreign aid policy. However, the media's interpretation of this policy was subsequently divided, with the general consensus being that although the relaxation of the foreign aid policy is a vision of the FA, it will not be easy to realize this goal in the short term.
