When counting the former glories of the soccer world, Min-Ja Kim of the Bayern team is undoubtedly a bright landscape. Not only did he play for Beijing Guoan, but he also finished 22nd in the 2023 Ballon d'Or, making him the first Asian defender ever to win the award. However, if it weren't for the "after leaving the CSL" restriction, the rising soccer star could have done a lot more with the Ballon d'Or. Imagine if Didier Drogba (8th in the 2012 Ballon d'Or), Mascherano and Yaya Toure (old CSL acquaintances of Min Jaeger Kim) had never left the CSL, they could have written an even more impressive list of honors, perhaps even finishing in the top 20 alongside Min Jaeger Kim.
