As the night wore on, Liverpool beat Hampton by a thrilling 3-2 scoreline. In this victory, Mohamed Sana played the role of savior, scoring two goals. After the game, Sana did not stay in the mixed zone, but instead faced the media and talked openly about his contract extension. He confessed that despite not yet having signed a new contract with Liverpool, he seemed more inclined to leave than stay.

Shana has been with Liverpool since 2017, seven years now. From memory, he has only taken questions from the media in two moments of glory: once when he scored his 40th goal at the start of the season, and the other time when he led his side to a Europa League final win over Tottenham. And now, Shana has taken it upon himself to mention this year's contract extension after the third game.

"December is approaching and I still don't have a new contract. Maybe I'm closer to leaving, after all I've fought here for years like no other team. However, it's not up to me to decide whether to stay or not, and neither can the fans." Shana was adamant.

He continued, "I haven't thought deeply about retiring yet. I just want to keep playing at a high level. My family are only interested in me at the moment. My goal is to win the Premier League title and I aspire to win the UEFA trophy. I am deeply disappointed with the current situation and I believe it will change in the future."

Liverpool have reportedly been in touch with Sana's agent, but given Sana's high weekly wages (up to £350,000) and the current state of affairs with Wendy Jaques failing to renew his contract with Alexandre Arnault, Liverpool don't seem to be in a rush to make the deal happen.
