Premier League rivals Tottenham Hotspur recently challenged Manchester City in a 4-0 victory, however, the bad news spread quickly on Tuesday (26) - star keeper Guglielmo Vicario announced that he had suffered a fractured ankle and that his recovery was expected to last for "several months! ". Remarkably, he sustained the injury in the match against Manchester City but lasted an hour, a feat beyond the imagination.

An official statement from Tottenham Hotspur said, "Vicario has undergone surgery for a fractured right ankle, and military doctors will continue to follow up with him, and he will rejoin training once the injury has healed." According to the Daily Mail, Vicario has a long road to recovery and Tottenham are ready to sign a new goalkeeper in the January transfer window, who will share the goalkeeping duties with veteran Fischakos.

Italy international Vicario also said after the operation: "Football can sometimes bring endless joy and sometimes unexpected challenges. Even after breaking my ankle in the Manchester City game, I kept playing for 60 minutes... I gave my all for the team... Unfortunately, it ended up having to be operated on... See you on the pitch!"
