Manchester United have officially announced that new manager Ruben Emolian will officially take up his new role this Monday (11th). However, the Daily Mail has revealed that despite the Portuguese head coach's imminent debut, he is currently yet to obtain a work permit, and therefore will not be able to officially get to work for the time being. However, this procedural process is not expected to have a material impact on Emolian's preparations.
Emolian ended his stint in the Portuguese Superliga with a 4-2 win over Braga late on Monday night. It is reported that he plans to leave for Manchester immediately to prepare for a new chapter in his career. In the meantime, however, it has been revealed that the UK's Department of Labor has yet to grant him a work permit, which would theoretically prevent him from carrying out his official duties, including training instructions and attending press conferences. However, the impact on Emolian will be relatively limited given the current period of intense international activity, with most players returning to the squad for national team matches.
Although he will not be able to take up his duties for the time being, he will still have to take care of a lot of things, such as giving interviews to Manchester United TV and taking care of many details of his personal life. In the meantime, he will be able to discuss the club's development strategy with United's management, who will be making their debut on November 25th, when United play their next league match at Yeşilvırkırmak.
