The fourth round of the EFL Cup was in full swing in the early hours of the 31st, when interim leader Yannis Dallaire was called upon to lead his team to a 5-2 victory over Leicester City at home. This is the first time in the past three years that Manchester United scored 5 goals in a single match, and the team's morale is greatly boosted. United will face Tottenham Hotspur on the road in the next round of 8. Rubin Emolian is expected to be the team leader. He said after the match that he is willing to stay in the team to help the new coach.

Winnisdale was left alone for the first time, with all the starters except the goalkeeper. The Red Devils have regained their confidence after the change of manager, despite only winning one and drawing one of their last eight matches. Casimiru opened the scoring soon after with a long-range shot, and Alejandro Canazo added to the lead to make it 2-0, however, Lister City pulled a goal back in just five minutes. Nandis and Casimiru each scored within a short time to give United a 4-2 halftime lead.

United slowed down in the second leg and Bono Fernandes completed the scoring in the 59th minute to seal a 5-2 win. In the two and a half years since Haggard took charge of United, the team has never scored five goals in a single game against a top-flight team. The last time the feat was achieved was by Susquehanna, back in 2021. This time, Yunisdale surpassed Tan Hager in his first time leading the team.

The top 8 teams in the EFL Cup are all Premier League teams, and Manchester United have been unlucky to win the draw to face Manchester City Hotspur away from home (see table for details). The match will be played in mid-December and Ruben Emolian is expected to lead the team. For the incoming Rubin Emolian, Yun said he would like to stay in the team: as an assistant coach, I want to help Manchester United, no matter when and where, I will stay in the team to help Manchester United, this will never change.
