After nine years, French striker Anthony Martial bid farewell to Manchester United in the heat of the summer and moved to AEK Athens in the Greek League in search of a new lease of life. Just at the crack of dawn on Thursday (31), the 33-year-old shot-stopper helped his side back into the last 16 in Greece, having not scored for 339 days up to that point.

In September this year, Madir took the plunge and chose to take a pay cut in order to join AEK Athens and signed a three-year contract with the team. Madir made his official debut in his third game since joining the team in a home match against Aris. In the first half of the match, in a tightly contested corner kick battle, Madir led his team to a narrow 1-0 win over their opponents and managed to achieve his first personal victory at AEK Athens.

It's worth noting that the last time Madir scored a goal was against Ivoryton last November. After 339 days of waiting, he finally fired again for Greece and was honored as Man of the Match for that goal. The French striker's career in Greece seems to have gotten off to a false start, but who could have predicted how his performances would blossom?
