This month, the Nigerian soccer team suffered a sudden hardship in Libya. A forced landing at a deserted airport left the team and players waiting for more than 15 hours in an environment with no water, no food and no internet. Faced with this unexpected situation, the Nigerian team had no choice but to forfeit the match. However, the tables were turned on Saturday, when the CAF announced that Nigeria had won the "special" match 3-0 and picked up three valuable points.

Immediately after, the CAF Disciplinary Committee on Saturday severely criticized Libya, arguing that it was Libya's responsibility to provide proper hospitality to the visiting team, including arranging for a special vehicle to transport the players. As a result, the Libyan team swallowed a 0-3 defeat and were fined 50,000 dollars. The General Complaints Department of the Libyan Football Federation revealed that they first appeared in Nigeria as the visiting team in this international tournament, but their flight was severely delayed due to poor arrangements made by the host team, which led to their arrival only hours before the match. There are even rumors that the Libyan FA may have deliberately created the mess out of a sense of revenge, only to set themselves on fire and reap the consequences.
