United were unfortunate to suffer an even bigger blow after their clash with Fehrenbach ended in a 1-1 draw in the Europa League. Wing forward Anthony Mafios was carried off on a stretcher after only 16 minutes on the bench, and the severity of the blow is a cause for concern. For the 24-year-old Brazilian international, who was already at a low point in his career, the injury was a further blow.

Although Anthony replaced Rashford in the 73rd minute, he left the field after only 16 minutes due to injury, the scene was out of control and the man could not hold back his tears. Teammates such as Alejandro Canazo have come forward to comfort, visible injury.

After the battle, the media captured Anthony limping off the field with his left foot wrapped in a brace, and the possibility of a tendon injury cannot be ignored. United manager Tan Hagar said: "Anthony is an interesting guy, he trains very hard and is trustworthy. Unfortunately, such an unfortunate thing still happened and we will examine him in detail. Hopefully the result won't be too bad."

Anthony Mathias has made very few appearances this year, making just five in all competitions, including a solitary strike against Barnsley in the EFL Cup. Previously, rumors were rife that Ajax would be interested in buying him back next January, but the injury threatened to derail the deal.
