Just this Friday (25th), Killian McBarbie and Paris Saint-Germain FC reached an impasse over unpaid wages. After the French professional soccer league ruled in favor of McBarbie, PSG was ordered to pay up to 55 million euros (about $460 million) in unpaid wages.
It is reported that PSG's arrears this time include €36 million in bonuses originally scheduled for February this year, as well as salaries and moral bonuses for April, May and June, totaling €55 million.
The French league's legal committee has given PSG eight days to repay the said amount, which PSG has appealed. The dispute dates back to August last year, when McBarbie refused to renew his contract automatically for another year. In response, PSG at one point quarantined McBarbie and banned him from training. However, McBarbie returned to the team shortly afterward. Sources say that the team will receive a "departure fee" for McBarbee's commitment to leave the club.
However, the truth is that "Mai" chose to move to Real Madrid on a free transfer this summer. PSG did not resist McBarbee's departure. I believe that McBarbee violated the agreement and therefore deducted the corresponding labor bonuses, which led to the lawsuit. Whether or not McBarbie had something to hide is a different story.
