Movie Mays Fielding God, Zodi Ebba World Wide.
On Saturday morning (26), the first round of the Eastern Conference of the USL playoffs was in full swing, with Miami International sitting at home and narrowly defeating Atlanta United 2-1 to open the campaign with a two-game winning streak. In this crucial battle, Argentinean ball winner Mays once again showed his central strength, delivering a key assist to help teammate Zodi Eiba hit the target.
Miami International missed out on a postseason berth last season, but has come back with a new look this season, making the playoffs as the regular season's top-seeded team. This was also Mays' first individual participation in the postseason tournament. Miami International broke the deadlock just two minutes into the game with Suarez. However, Atlanta United equalized in the second half by winger Lubao Ennidis to tie the game at 1-1 at the half.
The game entered a stalemate, and as the two sides battled to the 60th minute, Mays broke through on the right and sent in a precise cross, watching behind him to see where Zodi Ebba was, who received the ball and fired a shot from long range about 30 yards away from the goal to seal the win.
Since joining Miami International, Mays has contributed 18 assists, tying him with teammate Robbert Teller for one of the team's all-time assist leaders. Miami International will be back in action on November 3rd.
