Newcastle were the visitors to Everton in a 0-0 tug-of-war in the Premier League at dawn on Sunday, with the Magpies missing opportunities and Anthony Gordon's penalty miss the turning point in defeat. Everton midfielder Duguay also failed to convert his penalty into a goal, and he was emotional and jumped and cheered after missing a penalty in the opposite situation to Gordon, as if recreating a classic moment from Keown to Windal.

The game was a back and forth affair with both sides going back and forth in attack and defense. Duguay scored in the 18th minute but VAR ruled out offside.Newcastle were awarded a penalty in the 35th minute when Sindo Donnelly was fouled in the box. However, Gordon's spot-kick was parried away by fellow Englander Bickford. Duguay then ran wildly to the dressing room, shouting and jumping in excitement to celebrate. In the end, neither side was able to break the deadlock and Dugley lost control of his emotions.

After the game, Bickford said, Gordon asked me about the penalty after the game and he lunged at me. I had studied his last two penalties and they were both to the right of the keeper, so I expected him to go for the left this time. As it turned out, his shot hit my knee and I was disappointed with the poor quality of the shot. But I was happy because possession was the key to today's game.
