Kylian McBarbie, the rising star of French football, has recently returned to his homeland, not only for the national team's UEFA Europa League campaign, but also with a "big job" ahead of him. On Wednesday (11th), he will lead a team of legal professionals in a battle with Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) executives, aiming to recover up to 55 million euros (about 476 million Hong Kong dollars) in unpaid wages.
Last season, McBarbie's contract extension with PSG broke down and he joined Real Madrid (Real Madrid) as a free agent in the summer. This transfer put PSG in a "double lose" situation. Faced with the wrath of Nasser Aika, PSG refused to pay the 25-year-old striker the last two months of his salary, a loyalty payment and part of his signing-on fee, which amounted to 55 million euros.
Since June, McBarbee has been claiming his unpaid wages from PSG through his lawyers, but the other side has turned a deaf ear to him. Last month, he had to take PSG to the French League Commission, the French Football Association and the European Football Association, hoping to use the power of these authoritative institutions to recover his hard-earned money. However, despite the ongoing litigation, progress remains elusive.
In view of this, McBarbee decided to take the matter into his own hands and negotiate face-to-face with the PSG management. He will lead the legal committee in the "legal battle of the century". Meanwhile, the UEFA Europa League is in full swing, and the battle between the two sides will be even more exciting.
