As the hot summer transfer window slowly closes, Manchester United FC has quietly launched a blueprint for reinforcements for next season's winter transfer window. According to The Sun, the Red Devils plan to look to Fulham's young left-back Anthony Robinson as a solid back-up for Shaw, given that the left-back's regular, Shaw, has frequently been mired in injuries and if his health does not improve.

Anthony Robinson, 27, moved to Fulham from Wigan four years ago for a paltry £2 million transfer fee. The U.S. international has expressed his belief that his fitness will help the team to be solid at the defensive end. He made a whopping 44 appearances last season, and his outstanding performances have attracted the attention of giants such as Manchester City, AC Milan and Inter Milan. It is reported that Anthony Robinson's market value has soared to as high as £30 million (about HK$310 million).

Despite Fulham's reservations about Anthony Robinson's departure, it is feared that the young defender's path to a move will be difficult to block in the face of a huge offer.
