With his contract expiring this summer, one of soccer's brightest stars, Kylian Mbappe, bid farewell to Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) and embarked on a new journey to join Real Madrid. But the French soccer genius and PSG financial entanglement is like an unbroken haze, lingering in people's minds. According to El Mundo, Mbappe has braved legal channels to claim up to 55 million euros (equivalent to about HK$480 million) from PSG.

It is understood that PSG's salary arrears to Mbappe are not a small amount. First of all, when the contract was renewed in 2022, PSG had promised to pay 130 million euros in three installments as a signing bonus, but after Mbappe's departure, PSG ignored the last 36 million euros of the signing bonus. In addition, another payment, Mbappe's salary from April to June this year, which amounted to about €19 million, was also not paid on time.

Faced with PSG's indifference, Mbappe pursued his unpaid wages through legal channels in June, but the other party remained indifferent. In desperation, he decided to take Paris Saint-Germain to the Ligue 1, the French Football Federation and the European Football Association, expecting these three authorities to join hands to put pressure on PSG to protect his rights and interests.
