As night fell, the Wembley Stadium was a star-studded venue on Saturday the 10th as Manchester City and Manchester United battled it out. Late in the game, Red Devils' captain Alejandro Canazo scored a brilliant long-distance shot to give United the lead. However, the "Blue Moon" didn't go down without a fight, as Bernardo Schwarz scored a late equalizer, and the two sides battled to a 12-yard box score, with City eventually winning 7-6, ending a run of three consecutive defeats, and successfully lifting the Community Shield.
The drums of war were beating, and both teams went back and forth, switching between offense and defense. City were getting into the game and in the 23rd minute of the first half, United's left back Ricindo Martinez accidentally gave an "assist" to James McAtee, who skillfully sent the ball into the far post, but the ball was lost due to the blockage of the center post.
United came close in the 32nd minute. Amitya Road collided with Kasmi Road to create a chance into the box, but American shot-stopper Monty missed. He then looked for Rashford again, but the latter shot was off target and the score remained 0-0 at halftime.
In the second half, United had another great chance in the 53rd minute. Nandis fired a stunning volley from the top of the box, but it was ruled out for offside. Soon after, the heart of United's midfield was replaced by Alejandro Garnazzo and Mai Tommi with the intention of strengthening the attack, and after 74 minutes, Garnazzo cleverly passed the ball to an open Rashford, but the latter shot hit the post and unfortunately went out of bounds.
In the 82nd minute, Canazo took the ball down the right side of the field and broke into the center of the field and fired a dead-ball shot that Benardo Schwarz headed in to make the score 1-1.The two teams then engaged in a 12-yard battle. Bernardo Schwarz missed the first shot and United's Chaton Sinzu came on. After the first shot, the game was tied 4-4. In the exciting "overtime", Man Utd Johnny Evans and Man City Manuel Ejenji hit the penalties respectively, and finally Man City won 7-6, winning the Community Shield.
