Chelsea are once again in a transfer market frenzy this summer. The Sun revealed that the Blues have finalized an agreement with Premier League rivals Wolves to bring in Wolves winger Berdunitu for a whopping £54 million (HK$536 million). Once the 24-year-old Portuguese international successfully passes his medical, he will become the Blues' ninth new recruit this summer.
Despite contributing only 20 goals in the Premier League last season due to injuries, Bertounitou is still regarded as Wolves' number one. As a result, Chelsea made a decisive move to acquire the player for a fee of £54 million, with an additional £2.5 million in floating transfer fees. Berdunitu started his career at Portuguese super team Braga before moving to Wolves five years ago. In the 2020/21 season, he appeared in 31 Premier League games, scoring five goals. However, he has suffered frequent injuries in the last three seasons and has seen limited playing time. Whether he can quickly find his form after joining Chelsea is a big question mark.
Wolves are also planning to bring in 20-year-old Ajax winger Caruscorpius to fill the gaps in their lineup along with the sale of Berdunitu.
