The Athletic has broken the bombshell news that Reds Liverpool star Zougmans is expected to move away from the club this summer. The club's hierarchy are also said to be actively working on using the 27-year-old England international as a bargaining chip in a bid to bring in Newcastle wing Anthony Gordon in a win-win scenario.

Last season, Zougmans made 51 appearances for Liverpool, and despite being elected 31 times, he rarely featured in his preferred central position, which led to the idea of a move. And recently, the news about Liverpool and Newcastle are about to start two heavyweight deal. It is reported that Liverpool are planning to sell Zukomis to Newcastle for £45 million, followed by the acquisition of Anthony Gordon for £75 million.

If the deal goes through, Newcastle will not only get a substantial amount of revenue to meet the financial regulations of the Premier League, but will also usher in a strong addition to the defensive end. For Liverpool, the introduction of Anthony Gordon is undoubtedly a major benefit.

The Newcastle side are said to be looking forward to the deal. During the Euros a month ago, they tried to get in touch with the England national team in the hope of speeding up the process of a deal by having medicals for Zougmans and Anthony Gordon in Germany. However, no definite progress has been made so far.
