Hong Kong's sports arena is about to be treated to a soccer extravaganza, as the Asian touring showpiece BATTLE OF THE REDS is expected to kick off magnificently in the second half of next year. Thirty soccer stars from the English Premier League giants Manchester United and Liverpool will gather in Hong Kong to recreate the classic match of the Double Reds. However, the tournament is still in the preparatory stage, and the specific details will have to wait for the organizers to reveal.
Behind the BATTLE OF THE REDS event is World organization Football Legends (WFL), which focuses on providing a competitive platform for soccer legends over the age of 35. The Legends Showcase has been running globally since 2012, with a tour of Asia starting in 2019, and BATTLE OF THE REDS not only brought the legends of centuries-old rivals Liverpool and Manchester United together in front of tens of thousands of fans in Singapore and Malaysia, but also kicked off a new leg of the tournament in Kuala Lumpur at the end of April, followed by Bangkok, Thailand, where the tournament will be staged in October. The tournament will then move to Bangkok, Thailand, for a staging in October.
At the Bangkok press conference on July 11, the star-studded player lineups of both teams attracted the attention of the crowd. The Red Devils have gathered a host of famous players such as Goss, Windassa, Yogi, Stam, Shaha, Schonenham, Schwistar, and Brown in their team while the Reds are led by renowned players such as Auwain, McManaman, Konar, Luis Garcia, Hibia, Dudik, Smicha, and Heathcock. It is reported that the Hong Kong leg of the tournament will be the strongest line-up and the most costly stop on the tour. Next year, fans must not miss this soccer feast!
