Liverpool's every move in this summer's transfer window seems to have come in waves, however, one deal has caused a stir. According to Japanese media outlet Sports Nippon, Liverpool have signed Kubo Kenyoung for a transfer fee of nearly €60 million. The Japanese international, who is just 23 years old, has entered the sprint phase of his transfer after completing negotiations on his trip to England.

Sports Nippon further revealed that Kubo Kenyoung was originally scheduled to extend his contract with Real Sociedad until 2029 in February this year, but had a €60 million release clause in his contract. Liverpool were decisive in activating this clause and offered a lucrative contract of €15 million per annum. If dealt, this would set a new high for transfer fees in Japanese soccer.

It is reported that Kubo Kenyoung's representative has arrived in England for final negotiations. He is confident about the transfer and has begun to learn English the hard way. It is worth noting that he also has a national teammate in Liverpool, Aero Endo, which will undoubtedly help him integrate into the team more quickly.
