Manchester United recently made a big move to bring in Joshua Shukes and Jolo for a total of 90 million pounds (about 900 million Hong Kong dollars). Given the financial rules of the Premier League, the club has had to start dealing with some of its existing players. According to The Sun, United are planning to list central midfielder McDonald Minnie for £40 million (about HK$400 million). Initially, Fulham showed willingness to buy, however, another London powerhouse, Tottenham Hotspur, has joined the fray and is expected to sign the 27-year-old Scotland international.

Despite the fact that McTomini set a new career high by contributing 10 goals in 43 games last season, the United management remained firm in their resolve to sell him. This is mainly due to the limited revenue generated from player transfers and the minimal financial support. If the sale of McTomini is successful, United is expected to receive £40 million, thus attracting the attention of many teams.

Previously, Turkish giants Galatasaray vice-president Hadi Bogu had expressed an interest in McTomini and Fuham made an offer of £17 million, which was rejected by United. Now, the addition of Tottenham gives United an advantage in the negotiations.

Tottenham Hotspur finished fifth in the Premier League last season and missed out on qualifying for the Europa League by only 2 points to Aston Villa. In order to improve their strength in the new season, they are expected to make a big move in the transfer market, which I believe will help them to fulfill the transfer request from Manchester United.
