England's European campaign this season has been marred by a number of difficulties, with the left-back position being particularly hotly contested. Lauchisaur has been ruled out of three group games through injury, while Jebbia's calf injury is also a concern. It was suggested that Bukayosaka might be able to fill the left back position, but the suggestion was firmly rejected by Planet Arsenal.
Despite starting all three of his tournaments on the right, Bukayosaka did not fit in well with England's forward line. Initially, he made a brief appearance at left-back under Emeli's stewardship until Adidas took over and he was fixed on the right. England greats Ian Hooley and Gary Nievey have both suggested that a return to the left for Bukayosaka would solve England's left-footer woes and also free up space for Galpin's appearances.
In an interview, Bukajorska responded to this by saying, I have always had respect for Ian Hurley and he has always supported me, but I don't think that playing me at left back, where I don't play well, is the best solution to the problem. We could discuss it and in the end Shovki made the decision and I have to trust his choice.
