Argentina's soccer team is fighting tooth and nail to retain the U.S. Nations Cup title, and unfortunately, team leader Lionel Messi will not be involved in Sunday's (30) crucial group game against Peru due to a muscle strain in his right leg.

Looking back at the group stage of the Copa America, Lionel Messi had a solid performance, respectively, against Canada and Chile, helping the team to win two victories, locking up a place in the last eight in advance. However, the 37-year-old veteran felt a hidden muscle pain during the match. During a fight against a Chilean player, he was unfortunately kicked in the leg. Although treatment by military doctors prevented the injury from worsening, he still needs to undergo a full examination to ensure recovery.

Given that Argentina has advanced, leader Scarroni plans to rotate his lineup, stating, "Sunday's match against Peru will be a fair fight, we will compare the performances of the first two matches and observe the players' form." Currently Peru is only accumulating one point, if they can't win this game, they are afraid of facing the crisis of elimination.
