Italian soccer was dealt an unexpected blow at dawn on Sunday (30th) when a European round of 16 fixture took place. The left-sided core of the team, Federico Di Marco, suffered an injury and will not be able to play. The midfielder, Bastoni, is suffering from a cold and is not sure whether he will be able to play or not. Unfortunately, Caracoli is suspended from the match, making the three main players of the defense to be out of action.

Federico Di Marco's injury was revealed in the match between Italy and Croatia, and there is a risk of aggravation if it is not treated in time. Team leader Spaletti admitted in a press conference that Inter Milan's left goal position is definitely vacant. Bastoni's condition is still subject to final testing, and it is still not known whether he will be able to play.

Outside of Bastogne and Caraccioli, Spalletti has the backbone of the team in Buon Giorno, Gianlucavinceni and Federico Gagli. Among them, Kianlucavinceni is expected to replace Caracoli's vacancy. The absence of Federico Di Marco may leave veteran D'Amián to shoulder the burden of the left goal.
