On Sunday the 16th, the highlight of Group D was between the Netherlands and Poland. Prior to the match, Poland boosted their morale with a 2-1 victory, which brought them level with the Gap in the table. For United, it was a case of dropping Weghergs as a substitute hitman and he ended up scoring the winning goal for the Dutch late in the game.

The Netherlands made their debut in the final week of this year's UEFA Europa League, with Diby, Gap and Xavi Simons forming a trequartista. While Poland captain Roland Ljungdowski is out with an injury, Adambusha partners with Urbanski in the forward line.

Early in the match, Netherlands' Reynders and Xavi Simons both had good chances on goal, but neither could convert. Faced with pressure, Poland settled down and took a 1-0 lead in the 16th minute on a header from Adambusha off a corner kick.

The Dutch stepped up their offensive pressure after conceding the first goal. In the 29th minute, Nitun Aki crossed the ball and Gap scored with an easy shot to make the score 1-1 and the game tied at halftime.

In the second half, the pace of the Dutch offense slowed down and at one point they were passive. At the crucial moment, Ronald Gauvin was substituted and Weghese was replaced by Digby. The Manchester United veteran rewrote the game in time, seizing the opportunity to score in the 83rd minute, and eventually helping the Netherlands to a 2-1 comeback win.
