Manchester United starlet Alejandro Garnazzo has been in scintillating form this season, holding down a starting berth in 50 games, however, as he has gone from strength to strength, so has the responsibility that has been placed on his shoulders, as the 19 year old stood out when he first appeared on the Argentinean American team's preliminary roster, and was selected to play for the Argentinean Olympic team. He is expected to play in two international matches this summer, which is certainly a great opportunity to improve himself, but could also cause him to miss the start of next season's Premier League campaign.
Ganazu had previously been eyed by Scalani for the preliminary squad of the CONCACAF team, and with the highly competitive CONCACAF taking place from June 20 to July 14, Argentina were expected to go all the way. However, according to TNT Sports, Olympic team head coach Mas Gianlano has decided to include Ganazu in the Olympic contingent and has formally requested a release from Manchester United.
The men's soccer tournament at the Paris Olympics will kick off on July 24, with the gold medal match scheduled for August 9, the day before the Community Shield match between Manchester United and Manchester City, and a week before the new English Premier League season kicks off. As a rule, players need to take about three weeks off during the summer, and it is likely that Canazo will not be able to return to the team immediately after playing two consecutive international matches, thus missing the early matches of the new Premier League season.
Nonetheless, the club has the right to refuse the departure of players in view of Olympic soccer and FIFA's international tournaments. Rousse midfielder Ansel Fernandes and Aston Villa goalkeeper Damian Martinez are also reportedly included in Argentina's Olympic roster. And Manchester City have agreed for striker Zulian Ivaris to play in the Paris Olympics.
