In United's star-studded midfield, 19-year-old youngster Maneo has emerged as an indispensable centerpiece of the team with his outstanding performance this season. A contract extension and pay rise seem to be long overdue. It is reported that Maneo is quite firm in his plans for the future, and he even chose to postpone his contract extension until after the Euros, on the grounds that the value of his contract might fluctuate at that time.
According to the Manchester Evening News, Maneo was able to earn £10,000 (about HK$100,000) a week after being promoted to the first team last season. Thanks to an injury-prone season, Maneo has been able to make frequent appearances. And once he plays more than 10 games, his weekly salary is automatically doubled to £20,000 (about HK$200,000) per week.
In February this year, Manchester United have extended Maneo's contract until 2027. Since then, Man'o's performance has continued to amaze. Behind scoring the winning goal in the team's final, Manchester United has strengthened its resolve to extend Man'o's contract. It is rumored that United plans to extend Maneo's contract until 2030 and will quadruple his salary to up to £80,000 (HK$800,000) per week, just £5,000 less than Danish star Helen's weekly wage.
Nevertheless, the United side of the contract extension of Man'o is not in a hurry, because his performance in the England national team is also outstanding, selected in the preliminary list, and has the potential to stand out from the final list, and is even expected to be in the European Cup in a show of strength. Therefore, Maneo hopes that Manchester United can be in the end of the European Cup, and then gradually promote the renewal of matters, in order to obtain more favorable conditions.
