A Dutch press interview with Tannhäuser has surfaced in the run-up to the British soccer showdown, revealing that Tannhäuser has been confirmed by the British club and that the two will be working together to reshape the team for next season. Piers Morgan mocked it as a "pipe dream".

A reporter from Dutch sports outlet Voetbal International asked Tanhag a straightforward question, posting an exclusive interview with Tanhag: "Has the owner of Manchester United revealed anything to you?" Tanhag responded, "Inglis assured me that he will revolutionize everything and promised to work with me to reinvent Manchester United and change the face of the club. A new project has been launched, the Carrington base has been demolished and a brand new training ground has been completed."

Faced with a sharp decline in United's results this season, Tanhag has come under fire from public opinion, laughing at himself, saying, "The last time United won the Premier League title was 11 years ago. Fans expect surprises in every game and to stay at the top. Unfortunately, the team wasn't prepared for that. I started to rebuild. I took the first step last season and everyone was happy with it. Some people think I won the EFL Cup but lost the FA Cup and finished third in the league. In fact, other teams had stronger squads.

Tannhäuser also pointed out that United failed to play at full strength this season due to too many injuries, and the lineup has gone through dozens of changes. If the core players had stayed healthy, the team's performance would not have been so bad.

After the interview, public opinion of Tannhäuser was mixed. Some media outlets remain convinced that Tannhäuser needs more hype. However, others believe that what Tannhägger says is true and that he might stay in charge of Manchester United next season. In the first half of the year, famous mouthpiece Piers Morgan responded on social media to Cron's interview before he left United, mocking Tannhäuser as "delusional" and believing that he was bound to go.
