Arsenal's central midfielder Thomas Berdy has made very few appearances this season and he only has one year left on his contract with the team. Both sides are reportedly not interested in renewing his contract. According to Spanish journalist Adriann, the 30-year-old Ghanaian international is interested in Barcelona, but only if the transfer fee is not too high.

Barcelona are actively looking to strengthen their midfield and Thomas Berdy is one of their targets. However, due to budgetary constraints, they can only bring in the player at a lower price. For Arsenal, they are not averse to selling Berdy, especially considering his recent injury problems, they may consider bringing in Real Sociedad midfielder Subi Venditti as a replacement.

Berdy himself is interested in leaving Arsenal for a new challenge. He was approached by Juventus earlier this year and did not turn down an offer from Saudi Arabia. If he pursues a high-paying contract, he may turn down Barcelona's offer and head to the Middle East instead.

Thomas Berdy trained at youth level with Atletico Madrid. In the summer of 2020, he joined Arsenal, for which Arsenal paid a £45 million release clause. In four seasons at Arsenal, Birdy made 112 appearances and scored five goals. If he moves to Barcelona at a low price, Arsenal will bear some losses.
