With nightfall low, Saturday's Premier League action resumed as Arsenal hosted Nympho and came out of the gate on fire, defending their top spot with a clean 3-0 win thanks to a deft assist from Deeglan Rice, who continued to lead the table.
Arsenal started the game like a tiger on a hill and Mauve keeper Mike Chavis was overwhelmed. A powerful shot from Xaviers was deflected, William Shaliba went close with a shot from the penalty area, Leandro Duchate's shot went over the crossbar, and Thomas Birdie's shot from distance was also saved by McIlwraith. Arsenal's attacks came in waves, with Xaviers having a header cleared off the line and Deaglan Rice's shot going just wide. Just before the end of the first half, captain Martin Odegat's precise direct kick saw Xavis kill the ball in the penalty area and go close to opening the scoring for Arsenal.
Arsenal did not slacken off in the second half. Mike Chawas deflected shots from Bukayo Shaka and Xavis in quick succession, before going toe-to-toe with striker Solanki on the counter-attack. Arsenal's goalkeeper Laye stepped up to defuse the crisis, and after 70 minutes, Deaglan Rice turned and fired a shot that was quickly followed by Liandu Dushyat, who slammed a pinpoint shot across the face of goal. Deeglan Rice then showed his speed again in the narrow space and fired in a succession of shots that ended with Arsenal bagging all three goals as they should have done.
