English soccer superstar Chayton Sinzou returned to Borussia Dortmund in an unofficial capacity at the beginning of the year after his relationship with captain Eric Tanhag broke down at Manchester United. Although he appears not to be in a position to witness the Europa League final in his homeland, his performances in the top four teams have sparked a fervent debate amongst fans. Dortmund's official social media was quick to react, calling on doubters to apologize to Sinzu and even alluding to United's leader, Tannhäuser.

In the Europa League quarterfinals, Sinzu tore through the Paris Saint-Germain defense for Dortmund with his sharp breaks. Although the official Player of the Match was Junior Junior Muss, the ratings from the major media outlets placed Sinzu at the top of the list. Dortmund's social media platforms later released a statement: You all owe Chaton Sinzu an apology, and I've always known it. Recalling that at the beginning of the season, Sinzú was publicly criticized by Tannhäuser for his poor training attitude, he then hit back by claiming that Tannhäuser exaggerated the facts and mocked himself as a "scapegoat". Sinzu refused to apologize to Tannhäuser and was eventually recalled to Dortmund in January. Many fans were puzzled by this, and some even saw it as a sort of "apology" to Sinzú.

The 24-year-old Sinzu looked very proud after the game and thanked Dortmund for their cultivation: I joined Dortmund when I was 17 years old, and the team and the fans accepted me. I am very grateful to each and every one of the fans who supported me, and I have given all my efforts here. Talking about whether to stay in Dortmund next season, Sinzu said: I am now only focusing on the present, the future is still uncertain. It is reported that Dortmund intends to formally acquire Sinzu, but the 45 million pounds transfer fee offered by Manchester United has become a key obstacle to the deal.
